I am a computational social scientist studying how humans and automated systems decide who deserves what. My research spans algorithmic fairness, crowdfunding and social welfare, and political identity and conflict.
I co-authored GoFailMe: The Unfulfilled Promise of Digital Crowdfunding (Stanford University Press) and am developing FairFund-Bench, a benchmark evaluating distributive bias in LLM allocation decisions. I received my Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Toronto.
